Adaptive Health and Safety Coach

Richard brings an aviation and agricultural background to his work with Adaptive.  One of the drawcards that attracted Richard to work with Adaptive is the practical common-sense approach taken to hazard and risk management.

Richard holds a commercial helicopter pilot license and a Diploma in Farm Management (Lincoln University). His combined previous experience using these qualifications has shown him first hand the importance of structure and routines for successful hazard and risk management for any business.  In addition to his work with Adaptive Richard consults with the aviation sector, acting as a CAA approved Safety Manager and Occurrence Investigator, as well as acting as a Safety Assurance Manager (in an auditing capacity) for various aviation businesses in the lower South Island. 

Richard’s passion is to work with any business to help them succeed sustainably.  Whether you are a sole trader or have 100 staff, Richard strongly believes sustainability can only be achieved through the practical implementation of strong safe work practices that are environmentally friendly.  In more recent years his desire to help small and large businesses succeed across all areas has been Richard complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Enterprise followed by completion of Lead Auditor Integrated Management Systems, including International Standards for Quality ISO9001:2015, Auditing & Leading ISO19011:2018, Environmental ISO 14001:2015 and Safety ISO 14001:2018.

Outside of work Richard values the time he spends with his young family, especially when he gets through to Glenorchy, as well as focusing on maintaining his own health and fitness.
